Shiny coat is the sign of healthy pet. Dogs have many types of skin problems which sometimes can be benign and even can be serious. With the beginning of winter you can see your dog scratching, biting, and licking his fur. And with the coming days his condition worsens.
This is because in winter season we experience dry skin so extras care is required during this time to keep your skin moist and healthy and same is with dogs. Any dogs can have dry skin thus they also needs proper skin care to prevent itching and flaking.
If your home is dry in the winter use room humidifier to moisten the air. You can also bring a moisturizing shampoo from pet store. It is advised not to bath your dog often during winter but keep its coat clean. When bathing your dog make sure to use a dog shampoo. The ph levels of dogs are different from human so using human shampoo could cause harmful rashes on your dog’s skin. So it is better to get a dog shampoo which could be beneficial for your dog.
When ever you find your dogs skin flaky, red and irritated or can see bumps then take him to the vet doctor as it can be a serious problem. This condition can be due to some flea allergies or can be due to some home dust allergies. You can also find dog hotspot as these are very common type of bacterial infections.
It starts just like a normal allergy but when the dog scratches it the skin breaks up the skin and introduces bacteria into the sore. Thus it is quite necessary to take care of your dog’s skin as it can cause serious problems if not taken care properly.
